Internships
About the program
Interns are an indispensable part of the vital and necessary work performed by the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund and Institute.
Our internship program gives the opportunity to gain experience in LGBT political activism, consider career options, strengthen job-related skills and network with leaders in local, state and national politics.
Internships may be used to receive college credit. Placement is based on the application and a phone interview. All academic majors are encouraged to apply. Candidates for internships should possess a general knowledge of LGBT issues and the American electoral process. Potential interns must have completed at least one year of college and have abilities in oral and written communication.
All interns receive a modest stipend. Our Washington, D.C., office is located in the heart of downtown, just steps from the White House, Dupont Circle and the Metro’s Blue & Orange lines.
