Runoff could make Dallas largest U.S. city with openly gay mayor
Tue, Jun 5th 2007, 10:37If Ed Oakley wins his runoff on June 16, Dallas will become the largest US city with an openly gay mayor. Oakley, already a member of the city council, would continue to serve with other openly gay elected officials not only in Dallas, but throughout Texas. With an increasing number of LGBT and minority elected officials, its clear that Dallas is not the Dallas it used to be.
